Travel: Picture Perfect Stops in Oahu
Before I moved here in Hawaii, I was already obsessing on which places to go to once I got here. My husband promised to take me to all the tourist spots every weekend and below is my list of the picture perfect stops here in Oahu:
(All photos in this post are taken by me. I used GoPro Hero4, Nikon D90 and Iphone 6 in taking these pictures. Please don’t use without my consent. Mahalo!)
1. Hanauma Bay
Hanauma is my favorite beach to go to if you want to swim with the fishes. When my family visited us for our wedding, we took them here and they loved it so much – we went twice! You can bring your own snorkeling gears if you don’t want to rent. You can also bring small beach umbrellas and snacks but make sure to pack light since there’s a good 10 – minute walk to the beach so if you’re carrying a lot of things, you might want to take the trolley.

Nu’uanu Pali Lookout is another favorite for me. The view is breathtaking and you get to see the other side of Oahu.

3. Lanikai Beach
Lanikai is my favorite beach in Oahu because of it’s crystal clear and calm water. Just bring a beach umbrella and chairs since there’s not a lot of shade if you’re planning to go here.
4. Kailua Beach
Kailua is another great beach which is just next to Lanikai Beach. Great beach to go to for picnic and some beach games with the family.
This is another great spot in Oahu but please be extra careful! Don’t go to the rocks to take pictures!!
6.Disney Aulani (Ko Olina)
One of my favorite places to go to. There’s a public parking but it’s hard to find a spot so we usually park inside Disney Aulani and eat at one of their restaurants so we can have our ticket validated, else you will have to pay around $10-20 for parking – depending on how long you stay there.
7. Tantalus Lookout
8. Waimea Bay Beach
Another favorite of mine. You have to come early so you can park, or else you will have to walk from the other side of the road. Summer is the best time to go here coz come winter, the waves are HUGE!
9. Waikiki Beach
I know locals wouldn’t recommend this but before I came here, Waikiki beach was on my top spot of places to go to. If you google it’s name, you’ll have hundreds of beautiful pictures of it. I’m including it even if it’s not the best spot (truly because of the large crowd) – it’s still a beautiful place. P.S Please get some shave ice at Island Vintage Shave Ice!!
10. Byodo-In Temple
This list will be constantly updated so do check back from time to time. I’ll be adding this on the main menu for easy access. Mahalo!
