Opinion: Which is best for meetings/tablet for work? – Surface Pro 6 vs Ipad Pro 10.5

I’ve had the Ipad Pro 10.5 for a year now and in the beginning, it worked really well for me when I was taking notes during my meetings. I also got the apple smart folio keyboard but it broke after just 4 months of use (boo) so I don’t recommend it. Anyway, the more meetings I attended, the more I realized that the Ipad is not enough for me as I wanted a tablet that’s more like a laptop but not as heavy as one. I googled and checked reviews of top portable laptops and i came down to these 3 choices:

  • Microsoft Surface Pro $999

  • Dell XPS 13 starts at $899

  • HP Spectre $1399

  • Me and my husband went to Best Buy and learned that they do price match so I decided to get the surface pro 6 bundle priced at $799 which was a really great deal!!
Since then, I was able to compare which one is better for taking notes at work. I love both but for me, Surface Pro 6 is better for work as it is a full laptop. I was able to install Python and Tableau Public since I wanted to practice more using these tools. I couldn’t do this on my Ipad Pro, however, the apple pencil is way much better than the surface pen.
So my verdict? If you are in constant meetings like me where you have to type really fast, I recommend getting the Surface Pro but if you want something where you would be using the pen more, then the Ipad Pro is better for you.
For portability, both are very light and portable but the Surface pro is slightly bigger than the Ipad Pro but it’s still smaller than a folder.
If you’re still undecided on which one to get, comment down below and I would gladly answer questions to help you decide.
